P1 Wimax Potong Commercial Banned?!

The ‘Potong’ TV ads from P1 Wimax is indeed a funny ads and create a new hype in TV commercial. It was discussed in Parliament recently because some of the MPs feel that the commercial contain a ‘mixed message’ which are misleading.

The word ‘potong’ has been repeated over and over again for the commercial. For most people, “potong” hints at the act (of circumcision).

But, when commercial ads already on TV, it means that it’s already approved by Film Censorship Board under the Home Ministry. The parliament asked the MCMC to evaluate the content to determine whether it violates the content code stipulated by the MCMC and they want the commercial to be cut. (Cut = Potong) :) )

Personally for me, P1 Wimax first commercial is really good at drawing attention and the commercial can be considered as successful. Then again they should consider other aspect of human nature. I hope the title for this post is not misleading because by the time of posting, the commercial still runs on TV.

So, for those in the Borneo, JANGAN “POTONG” DULU! Sebab, P1 Wimax is currently available in the Peninsular only. Its a big NO for deConnexion!

    P1 Wimax's converage is terrible. That's the only concern I have.

    potong? the speed so slow, not stable at all, potong already sure die!
    i have wasted my money for P1!!!!

    luckily i am not potong yet! streamyx saved me!!!

    I am using both P1 Wimax as well as Streamyx. Personally, in terms of speed and mobility, P1 out weigh Streamyx. Furthermore, P1 is wireless compared to Streamyx which still rely on the “cord”. Imagine, having a notebook embeded with wimax without lines, without boundary vs being only able to surf net in your house.

    P1 is only 1 year old company, it already put Malaysia on the world map by getting itself into world wimax board. Also bold enuf to take on the ancient TM which monopolize the broadband market. Kudos to it. Not even Digi/Maxis/Celcom dare to awake the sleeping Giant. We as consumer will benefit from the competition. Eg. Streamyx only waive the registration fee after P1 came out with the Potong ads. P1 giving our free Wiggy.

    If P1 is able to increase its coverage and stability over the next few months, the future is bright for all GPacket share holders. And I am sure it will.

    Every network has its flaws, wimax, 3G, land line, cellular. So, no complaint.

    I cannot agree more. 1 year old company with so much potential in the future, This is the stage where they receive complaints and improve the services based on it. much like beta testing.

    I do not really recommend this one,i had a bad experience before.what i can say with the converage is really teribble.i am a loyal customer of penangphone.the best broadband here in penang.

    never heard of penangphone before, but here in Sarawak the Free Wireless internet by deConnexion is a pain in the arse.
